Everyone wants the perfect wedding. I know I did. When I got married three years ago, I planned everything to perfection.
Invitations, flowers, church, readings, photography, reception venue, band. You name it – I researched and planned it.
I didn’t have an unlimited budget. What bride does?! Hell, no one in these tough times, that’s for sure.
However, every decision I made ate away at my budget and I ended up spending thousands of dollars over my original budget. Of course, my “budget” kept expanding to keep in line with my spending… Big mistake.
And, although I had a beautiful day, I’m still paying for it today. However, this need not be the case…
I’m maid of honor at my best friend Shanna’s wedding next year. She asked me because we’ve been friends for years and because I planned my own wedding.
I told Shanna that wedding budgeting wasn’t my strong point, but she showed me what she calls her “Wedding Planning Bible”. It has allowed Shanna to save thousands of dollars on everything from her wedding dress to the costs of the reception.
